Melksham Link needs volunteers.

Melksham and District Link need volunteer drivers.

No regular commitment is required. The role is very flexible, and it is up to the individual how little or how much they do. 45p per mile is paid towards petrol etc.

The role is vital and rewarding. If you’re interested in joining a friendly, enthusiastic group of volunteers and would like to help others please get in contact for a chat and more information.

We are a charity run entirely by volunteers

Link is a charitable organisation run by volunteers and is part of a countywide Good Neighbours scheme that helps local residents get to medical appointments when they have no other way of getting there.

Can you donate to a good cause?

Our drivers are reimbursed with a fuel allowance to cover the cost of using their own vehicles; we use the non-taxable rate set by the government which is currently 45p per mile.

If you are in receipt of certain benefits, you may be able to claim some or all of your travel costs from the hospital you are attending? Called the “Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme” information is available on the NHS website.

Many clients will ask how much should I give? Clients can give what they can afford or deem a satisfactory amount. For more guidance please contact the link coordinator or fill out the contact form below.
